Sonoma and Mendocino save thousands on EVBox

The Sonoma Coast EV Incentive from CALeVIP is offering up to $14,000 per Level 2 EV charging station, and up to 80% of your project cost for DC fast charging—up to $80,000! Ready to become an EV charging destination?

Why Sonoma Coast needs EV charging

There are currently 460 public charging stations spread throughout Sonoma and Mendocino County. With an ideal attach rate of 1:5, that is only enough to support 2,300 EVs.

As of January 2019, there were roughly 4,500 EVs registered in these two counties, meaning that public charging availability needs to double in order to provide an adequate amount of infrastructure to support these vehicles.

Add to that the rapidly increasing EV adoption rate in California (25% of auto sales by 2025) and the need for more publicly available EV charging becomes that much more pressing. So, to foster the expansion of EV infrastructure in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties, CALeVIP (along with a number of local clean energy organizations) are providing a total of $6 million in project funding to add more public charging and help this EV market grow.
