Succeeding in the Transition to Ultra-Fast Charging as an Independent Operator

Coming from the oil industry, where he has worked for over fifteen years, Tony Sturbois has an in-depth understanding of on-the-ground realities, operational constraints, and user expectations for high-traffic energy infrastructure. In 2024, he decided to take the next step in his career: becoming a charging point operator (CPO) and investing in ultra-fast electric vehicle charging.

From Traditional Energy to Electric Charging

With extensive experience in service stations and energy infrastructure, Tony approaches electric charging with a highly pragmatic vision. For him, the transition can only succeed under one condition: offering a solution as reliable, high-performing, and easy to operate as traditional infrastructure.

An Ultra-Fast Station on a Strategic Route

In November 2025, Tony opened his first electric charging station, equipped with two 400 kW EVBox ultra-fast chargers, strategically located along a key route.
The goal was clear: meet a critical need for electric drivers—drastically reduce charging time while providing a smooth, intuitive, and reassuring experience.

From the very start, the station was an immediate success.

“At this site, we are already carrying out between 20 and 30 charges per day. This not only confirms strong demand but also demonstrates the reliability and performance of EVBox solutions under real-world conditions.”

This level of usage shows that a charging station can be highly profitable, even when operated independently.
