How long does it take to charge the Kia EV6?

The charging time of the Kia EV6 varies based on which version of the EV6 you purchase, its battery size, and the type of charging station you charge at. There are currently four versions of the Kia EV6: The standard range 2WD* with a 54 kWh usable battery, and the long-range 2WD*, long-range AWD*, and GT each with a 74 kWh usable battery.

All versions of the Kia EV6 can charge at a maximum of 11 kW at an AC charging station. This means it takes approximately 6 hours to charge the standard range 2WD from 0 to 100 percent, and 8 hours to charge the long-range 2WD, long-range AWD, and GT versions.

As for charging at a DC fast charging station, the Standard Range 2WD can charge at a maximum power of 175 kW, while the Long Range 2WD, Long Range AWD, and GT versions can charge at a maximum power of 233 kW. This means it takes the standard range 2WD around 17 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent, while the long-range 2WD, long-range AWD, and GT versions take around 16 minutes.

What features make the Kia EV6 unique?

As an electric vehicle (EV) built from the ground up, Kia has integrated many features that you can only expect in EVs. The most notable of these is the Vehicle-to-load (V2L) function. Thanks to the EV6’s large battery, the V2L allows for the vehicle to essentially act as a portable power supply, providing the option to charge external equipment such as camping gear, a movie projector, or even other EVs.

The second EV6 feature that impresses is the maximum charging rate of 350 kW which can add an additional 100 km of range in just 4.5 minutes. Kia also mentions on their website that their multi-speed charging system can convert just 50 kW into 350 kW to allow for optimal charging even without the most powerful chargers.

Finally, the EV6 feature that likely caught your eye is the modern bold design. Kia claims that thanks to building the EV6 from the ground up as an EV, providing flexible dimensions to work with, their designers have introduced an incredibly unique design that is almost futuristic.
