By signing up to our charging management software, employers can automate the reimbursement of charging costs for their employees charging at home using their own charging station.

Employers operating EV fleets may provide employees the benefit of charging a company car at home. In doing so, employees incur the cost of charging as their household electricity supplier includes the additional electricity consumption on their monthly bill; so they will need to claim back from their employer.

EVBox charging stations that feature a MID kWh metre can accurately measure the amount of electricity the charging station has consumed whilst charging. With this data EVBox charging management software can calculate the cost of charging for employers, and can automatically reimburse their employees for these costs.

How does the automated reimbursement process work?

1. Employer and employee agree on an electricity consumption reimbursement rate
2. Employee charges the company EV at home and EVBox collects the electricity consumption data from the metered charging station
3. On a monthly basis, the employee receives payment from EVBox based on the agreed reimbursement rate
4. Employer receives the invoice from EVBox for the reimbursed transactions

Employer

1. Signs up for a business account in EVBox charging management software

2. Adds a sub-account for employee and sets reimbursement rate

3. Activates employee’s home station and card in employee sub-account

Employee

1. Sets up sub-account and provides bank details to trigger reimbursement flow

2. Employee charges at home using a metered EVBox charging station
