Sustainability at EVBox

Discover what's behind our commitment to powering our sustainable future as we strive for net-zero targets and reducing our carbon footprint.

1. Our commitment to a sustainable future

At EVBox, our vision is clear: to build a world where electric mobility is the new normal. We’ve made it our mission to empower society’s transition to cleaner mobility with our all-in-one charging solutions. But we know our solutions alone are not enough. That’s why we are committed to conducting business in a way that balances economic, social, and environmental sustainability factors in harmony. We do that by executing the EVBox’s ESG Roadmap.

Our guiding principles

1. We advance transport electrification through responsible operations By bringing charging stations to market, EVBox contributes to advancing transport electrification and driving toward a zero-emission future. Alongside this, we operate in strict alignment with all relevant legislation, existing standards, and universal sustainability and ethics principles.

2. We cultivate sustainability across all areas

We take full ownership of our impact by measuring our carbon footprint. Through innovative product design and manufacturing processes, we actively reduce emissions, waste, and natural resource consumption. We consistently strive for superior waste management practices.

3. We demand supply chain excellence

We drive excellence throughout our supply chain by setting stringent performance benchmarks and implementing targeted programs. To help build a cohesive network of responsible practices, our suppliers are expected to not only comply with our new Code of Conduct but to also communicate the same principles and expectations to their own suppliers, encouraging them to adopt similar, if not more ambitious standards, such as EVBox Net Zero Standards for EVBox Suppliers. Our intention is to foster a collaborative environment where we can work together to implement the outlined expectations and collectively drive positive change.

4. We empower sustainable choices

We encourage employees to use public transport, share transportation, or work from home to avoid commuting emissions. We hold virtual events and support a hybrid working model (WFH Policy).

5. We take responsibility and action

We set internal targets as well as public goals. We also continuously enhance our Sustainability strategy and performance. We transparently monitor and report on our progress annually.

2. External pledges & certifications

In line with our commitments, we have joined the United Nations Global Compact and are aligning our objectives with those of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

United Nations Global Compact

The United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, uniting businesses committed to aligning their strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. By joining the UNGC, EVBox reaffirms its commitment to responsible and transparent business practices and to contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Our engagement focuses on advancing clean mobility solutions that reduce carbon emissions, foster ethical supply chains, and promote innovation for a more sustainable and inclusive future.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

SBTi is a collaboration between the Climate Disclosure Project, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute, and the World Wide Fund for Nature that provides companies with a framework to set science-based emissions reduction targets.

EVBox is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 . We are setting emission reduction targets for the short- and long-term, aiming to reduce emissions by half by 2030. In the coming years, our primary focus will be to eliminate emissions in our operations and reduce emissions across our value chain

3. Our Climate and Circularity Ambition

By 2026, we aim to identify the level of waste production and current treatment methods.

By 2040, we aspire to set a target aligned with the waste hierarchy and achieve zero waste sent to landfill.

By 2030, we aim for:

  • 100% of products designed according to circular principles

  • 100% recyclable packaging

By 2050, we aspire to be a fully circular company.

Collaboration is essential for the success of the circular economy. That’s why we welcome innovative service models that extend the lifespan of our products or give them a second life.

By 2050, we aim to achieve carbon neutrality.

To reach this goal, we align with science-based targets (SBTs) for 2030, aiming to halve our emissions by 2030, following a pathway that limits global warming to 1.5 °C.

We work closely with our suppliers to reduce emissions across the entire supply chain—from production and transport to waste management. We seek close collaboration with them to lower our Scope 3 footprint. To this end, EVBox purchase contracts include a CSR clause, a Supplier Code of Conduct, and a dedicated Net Zero standard for suppliers.

4. Documentation

Product Environmental Profile (PEP)

We conducted a full life cycle assessment (LCA) for the EVBox Troniq Modular and High Power product ranges. This analysis was carried out in accordance with the requirements of the PEP Ecopassport® program. The resulting Product Environmental Profile is a Type III environmental declaration, compliant with ISO 14025 and the ISO 14040-44 LCA framework.
