1. Our commitment to a sustainable future
At EVBox, our vision is clear: to build a world where electric mobility is the new normal. We’ve made it our mission to empower society’s transition to cleaner mobility with our all-in-one charging solutions. But we know our solutions alone are not enough. That’s why we are committed to conducting business in a way that balances economic, social, and environmental sustainability factors in harmony. We do that by executing the EVBox’s ESG Roadmap under the coordination of our ESG Steering Group.
Our guiding principles
1. We advance transport electrification through responsible operations
By 2025, all major vehicle markets will have surpassed the 16% tipping point for mass passenger EV adoption, marking the completion of the first phase of the mobility transition. By bringing charging stations to market, EVBox contributes to advancing transport electrification and driving toward a zero-emission future. Alongside this, we operate in strict alignment with all relevant legislation, existing standards, and universal sustainability and ethics principles.
2. We cultivate sustainability across all areas
We take full ownership of our impact by measuring our carbon footprint. Through innovative product design and manufacturing processes, we actively reduce emissions, waste, and natural resource consumption. We pilot new materials and consistently strive for superior waste management practices.
3. We demand supply chain excellence
We drive excellence throughout our supply chain by setting stringent performance benchmarks and implementing targeted programs. To help build a cohesive network of responsible practices, our suppliers are expected to not only comply with our new Code of Conduct but to also communicate the same principles and expectations to their own suppliers, encouraging them to adopt similar, if not more ambitious standards, such as EVBox Net Zero Standards for EVBox Suppliers. Our intention is to foster a collaborative environment where we can work together to implement the outlined expectations and collectively drive positive change.
We have multiple areas of focus to promote sustainability throughout our operations. One aspect involves ensuring the repurposing and recycling of any obsolete stock. From our partnership with Drake & Farrell to increase value chain circularity to tracking our emissions throughout our supply chain, we work together with suppliers to make better choices. Additionally, our OneChargerTwoLives initiative connects customers and technical schools to prolong the end-of-life phase for charging stations.
4. We empower sustainable choices
We encourage employees to use public transport, share transportation, or work from home to avoid commuting emissions (EVBox Travel Policy). We hold virtual events and support a hybrid working model (WFH Policy). We organize internal events which are vegetarian or vegan and at our GoWest HQ we have teamed up with WeCanteen to deliver an environmentally conscious cafeteria for our employees and guests.
5. We take responsibility and action
We set internal targets as well as public goals. We also continuously enhance our Corporate Sustainability strategy and performance. We transparently monitor and report on our progress annually. We address electric mobility topics that matter during our REVOLUTION Live series where industry experts discuss sustainable growth in our global path to zero emissions. To work towards a better industry, EVBox co-founded ChargeUp Europe, an association working towards an expeditious and effortless rollout of EV charging infrastructure in Europe.

2. External pledges & certifications
In line with our commitments, we have pledged and signed two important climate initiatives: the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and the European Climate Pact. We have also received a number of certifications and awards in recognition of our sustainability actions as set out below.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
SBTi is a collaboration between the Climate Disclosure Project, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute, and the World Wide Fund for Nature that provides companies with a framework to set science-based emissions reduction targets.
EVBox is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 and has recently been accepted to be a part of the Science Based Targets Initiative. We are setting emission reduction targets for the short- and long-term, aiming to reduce emissions by half by 2030. In the coming years, our primary focus will be to eliminate emissions in our operations and reduce emissions across our value chain. Discover other SBTi companies taking action here.
The European Climate Pact
The European Climate Pact is an initiative by the European Commission that aims to engage citizens, organizations, and communities in the fight against climate change. The Pact is part of the European Green Deal and is helping the EU to meet its goal to become climate neutral by 2050.
EVBox pledges to continue innovating and engaging constructively with the EV ecosystem, civil society, and policy makers to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility as part of a multimodal transport system to enable a zero-emission future.
Activities in this pledge involve investments and innovations in clean technology to drive emissions reduction in the transportation sector. Furthermore, we’re proud to note that our EVBox representative in Brussels serves as the European Climate Pact Ambassador. In this role, they play a crucial part in informing, inspiring, and providing support for climate policies and related initiatives. Learn more about our submission here.

3. Material topics and ambitions
In 2022, we conducted a double materiality assessment to identify the most important environmental, social, and economic priorities for EVBox.
A double materiality analysis is a methodology companies use to identify and estimate possible environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics that might impact the business and how a company’s actions affect people and the environment. Based on the outcome, a company knows which ESG-related issues are most important to address.
We conducted our double materiality assessment using internationally recognized frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and considered upcoming requirements from the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The outcome of the assessment has been validated by the executive management. Learn more about our materiality assessment methodology here.
The materiality assessment resulted in 12 material topics. Out of these, the below four topics were scored the highest and were identified as a priority for EVBox.
